We are excited to announce that the H-1B Ready to Work (RTW) Partnership grantees are invited to attend the RTW National Grantee Convening on Tuesday January 23-24, 2018 in Washington D.C!
The H-1B Ready to Work (RTW) Grantee Convening will bring together RTW grantees, National and Regional Employment and Training Administration (ETA) staff, experienced technical assistance coaches and subject matter experts to provide comprehensive high-quality technical assistance, materials, presentations, shared learning experiences, and hands-on demonstrations to support the implementation and administration of the H-1B Ready to Work grant program. The key objectives of the convening include:
- Deliver programmatic technical assistance to support grantee efforts in recruiting, serving, training, and placing long-term unemployed individual into rapid employment in middle and high-skilled jobs across a diversity of H-1B industries such as Information Technology (IT), healthcare, advanced manufacturing, and financial services.
- Offer training on important grants and fiscal management policies and procedures;
- Provide training on participant data collection and ETA reporting requirements; and
- Foster peer-to-peer knowledge exchange to share promising practices and challenges amongst grantees.
This years convening will feature several peer-to-peer working sessions that will provide an opportunity for grantees to work together, share ideas and problem solve in a small group setting. RTW grantees are encouraged to participate in a “Call for Presentations” by submitting proposals to showcase successful RTW grant program strategies, effective partnerships, and proudest accomplishments with other RTW grantees. The winning proposals will be featured during the RTW convening, as part of the breakout sessions “Strategies to Advance the Long-term Unemployed.”
